| 211 and 410
Series Bearings – Match or
exceed that offered on most competitive discs.
The
211 Series greaseable bearing feature ten
9/16” balls and has a radial load rating
of 7520 lbs @ 33-1/3 RPM. For those applications
requiring a medium to heavy-duty bearing,
the 410 Series with a radial load raring
of 14100 lbs. @ 33-1/3 RPM is an excellent
choice. Seven 15/16” steel balls are
contained within the 410 Series greaseable
bearing. Both the 211 and 410 Series bearings
seal shields are included for additional
protection from abrasive soils. The 410WSS
bearing is 5/16" wider allowing 2, triple
lip seals that cannot be overgreased unlike
the older 410N bearing. |
|
| T2-215 Trunnion Mounted
Bearing – the T2-215 series
(optional on 1225 -10½” spacing,
std. on 1275, 1375 and 8550) is the largest
bearing available on Ezee-On discs. Two 215
series bearings are contained within a massive
greaseable trunnion type housing. The 215
bearing uses eleven (11) 11/16” steel
balls. Two (2) independent 3 ply national “syntech” lip
seals contain the twin 215 bearings. Specially
designed for high loads and low rotation
speeds, the T2-215 has a radial load rating
of 22800 lbs. @ 33-1/3” RPM. Pivot
points keep the trunnions centered and able
to handle shaft deflection. The housing also
makes it extremely simple to remove disc
gangs, one bolt per trunnion. Bearing wear
plates are optional for rocky conditions
or where there is a potential for damage
to the turnnion housing. |

|
| Exclusive Floating Hitch – Not
available on most competitive discs, this exclusive
Ezee-On feature is unique in that the hitch is designed
to move or down with the tractor without inferring
with the operation of the disc (see illustrations 1
and 2). When obstructions such as rocks or roots are
encountered or when irregular ground conditions such
as washouts exist, the disc simply rolls over or through
them without transferring weight to the front gangs
(see illustration 3). The chance of costly damage to
both the disc blades and or gang bearings is significantly
reduced. Also incorporated into the floating hitch
is a spring-cushioned screw crank which makes short
work of front-to-rear leveling of the disc. All model
4490, 4590, 4500 and 4600 discs feature the Floating
Hitch as standard equipment. |

| Stone-flex
Hangers – for those
who want additional protection for
Ezee-On’s already rugged bearings,
blades, spools, and gang shaft, stone-flex
hangers are available as an option.
Discs, especially is rugged conditions,
can encounter extreme and repetitive
shock forces from ground embedded rocks
or roots. The stone-flex hanger is
a perfect choice for cushioning those
shock loads and averting costly damage
to expensive gang components. The C-shaped
spring steel hanger is designed to
absorb both vertical, and more importantly,
horizontal forces without compromising
disc penetration. All stone-flex hangers
on Model 4490 and 4590 discs
are 1¼” x 2” while
the 4300, 4500 and 4600 Models feature
a larger 1¼” x 2½” hanger.
Scraper bars are mounted integrally
to the stone-flex hangers allowing
it to move with the gang whenever the
hanger flexes. |
|
| Furrow
Filler Blades – in order
to get the most uniform and consistent
working of the field, Ezee-On tandem
discs feature tapered furrow filler
blades as standard equipment. On the
larger working widths two furrow filler
blades per side are standard, one 4” less
in diameter than the working blades
and the second 8” less (Note:
only one furrow filler blade is supplied
per side on the Model 395, and Model
4300 discs under 19”).
These finishing blades are integral
to the rear gangs of the disc and work
together with the full sized blades
to create a level ridge-free field. |
|
| Standard Rigid
Hanger – all rigid hangers
on Ezee-On’s tandem discs are
constructed of high tensile steel for
strength and are contoured to the blade
curvature for maximum trash flow. Each
hanger U-Bolt mounted to the gang beam
for ease of removal or adjustment.
Unlike competitive brand discs that
feature fixed-position bearing hangers
welded to the gang beam, Ezee-On hangers
can be repositioned should heavier
blades be installed after years of
use. |
|
| Steel Fabricated
Spools – all Ezee-On
tandem discs feature steel half and
full spools as standard equipment.
Unlike cast iron spools, steel spools
can withstand greater “shock
loads” from rocks or stumps thereby
eliminating spool breakage. During
its manufacturing process, each spool
is squared, beveled and compressed
to maximum density prior to assembly,
to ensure the gang will not shift and
loosen. Combine this rugged spool construction
with the industry’s largest diameter
gang shaft and the result is one massive
gang unit capable of withstanding rigorous
field work year after year. |

| Blade Scrapers – all
Ezee-On tandem discs feature one piece,
4” wide blade scrapers made of
carbon steel for long wear life. All
scrapers are U-Bolt mounted to the scraper
bar and can be adjusted individually
or one at a time. All scraper bars are
constructed of 2” x 2” tubular
steel. The leading edge of each scraper
is located near the center of the blade
to reduce draft requirements and eliminate
the need for trash guards. |
|
| Slip-in Spindle
Axles – Ezee-On’s
tandem discs are built with maintenance
concerns in mind. All spindle axles
are designed for easy removal and strength.
Each spindle is bolted into a sleeve
and can be removed by simply removing
the bold and pulling out the axle.
This saves valuable time if repairs
to the tire or wheel components are
required. This feature is Not Available
on the Model 395 disc. |
|
| Optional Pan-Style
(Moldboard) Scrapers are available
on 4500 and 4600 model discs, which
mount low on the disc blade to provide
effective cleaning of the disc blade
and prevent sticky soils from building
up. As a result, the disc cuts cleaner
and draft is lighter. All scrapers
are adjustable individually or as a
group for optimum performance in the
field. |

|
| Choice of Blade
Spacing – Ezee-On
tandem discs offer spacing choices that allow
every field operation from secondary or finishing
to primary tillage and breaking. Medium duty
models such as the 395, 4490 and 4590 feature
8” or 9” blade spacing. Discs with
9” or 10½” spacing are considered
general purpose, whereas 8” spacing is
best for fine-seedbed work. 12” spacing
is reserved for the heavy Model 4500 and 4600
discs when deep plowing is required. |
|
| Large Gang Shaft – all
Ezee-On tandem discs feature a large 1-15/16” diameter,
high carbon steel gang shaft. The large diameter
gang shaft – 40% larger than that on competitive
models – is important in preventing blade
and bearing failure due to stretching or breaking.
The gang shaft together with Ezee-On’s
steel fabricated spools are pre-assembled and
torqued at Factory to 3200ft/lbs making the whole
gang almost one mass. |
